ABOUT US
Some History

My Name is Bert Neves better know as "Coach Bert". Ive been training boxers for almost 30 years now.  In 1989 I opened KO Boxing. At the time, I had been a youth football coach and worked with alot of the kids in the city. I had always been a into boxing and was a boxer myself as a youth and also in the military. My plan was to get kids off the streets and give them a place to learn disciple, be a part of something and become mentally and physically strong.
In 1995 I joined with The city of Pawtucket and started a non-profit boxing program at the Barton St Community Center. It was then that I really realized just how much these kids needed an outlet. Unfortunately, in 2001 the grant was cut for the boxing program. That is when I opened B&F Boxing Gym in honor of a great friendship I had with Frank Houlihand of Coventry Boxing Club who passed away. We both dedicated ourselves to helping these youths and young adults follow their dreams and learn that with dedication and hard work you  can accomplish anything.
Our Mission

Our mission is to help get kids off the streets and into the ring so they have an outlet. Our goal is that they will learn to grow as a person and gain confidence and self esteem.  Some go on to be amateur or professional fighters and others just learn dicipline, team work, determination and how to stay in shape physically and mentally. Whatever it is they are striving for, we dedicate ourselves to getting them there.
What makes us different is that we work with those of all age groups, skill levels, gender or background who are interested in the sport whether for exercise or to compete and we see them all as a part of our family. We have the best rates in the state and we do that so that we make it possible for everyone to be able to afford to come.
I love watching the transformation of these young men and women from the time they walk through our doors until they have reached their goals. That is what makes us happy and makes it all worth while.
